Mixed Media Workshop
December 4 & 5 2022 Sunday & Monday 12:00-4:00 Alejandro's painting studio 2071 Lorane Hwy, Eugene, OR Beginners Welcome! You will have fun using your photographs, creating layers of textures and colors using new methods and techniques in this Experimental Workshop. You will learn how to transfer your photos onto wood, and embellish them with mixed media textures and nature prints using diy stencils, joint compound and acrylic paint, collage, and much, much more!! I will supply the wood panels, 12" x 12" and 6" x 6" for substrates. What to Bring: Sketchbook or Journal, Laser Photocopies of photographs of people, places, or things you want to reproduce in your artwork, Acrylic Paint, Decorative paper, Paintbrushes, Palette, Drawing implements, Gesso, and any store bought or diy stencils you want to try. For example, Lace makes an excellent stencil! Past Workshops
For Kids K - 5 and UpArt movements and methods such as; Abstract expressionism, Color field, Fauvism, Impressionism, Modern Methods.
Combining nature with art which could include field trips to collect natural materials, found objects and re-purposed items.
Group-oriented projects which focus on building relationships by learning to collaborate, working together to compete a large art project such as a mural, a sculpture, multi-media, or print making project.

Methods included in these workshops are; The elements and principles of design and composition, mixing paint, image transfers, creating your own stencils and other unconventional tools, mini shrines, bundling objects, and how to incorporate these unique materials in artwork.
